Two Reasons To Consider Family Daycare For Your Child

Family daycare is a steadily growing alternative in Australia and is even being considered a better option than a large daycare facility. The family daycare model differs from standard daycare because it is home-based. Before you decide on childcare, here are a couple of reasons why you should contemplate choosing family daycare for your child.

Care for your infant is an easier transition

Enrolling an older child is not as challenging as enrolling an infant in daycare. Older kids tend to know how to interact with others, and while they will be introduced to an unfamiliar environment, the activities and exposure to their peers means they will adjust in a short while. An infant, on the other hand, does not have these advantages on their side. Thus, when you visit a daycare centre, you could be wary of leaving your child in a seemingly institutionalised care facility that is a far cry than the environment you have been raising them in.

If you prefer a more homely setting, then family-based daycare will be the best solution for you. Since these providers will offer care from the comfort of their home, the environment feels more conducive for a baby as well as for preschoolers. Moreover, some of these providers focus on a specific age group and a minimum number of kids. Hence, not only will your child receive one-on-one attention, but you also do not have to worry about your infant being prematurely exposed to another age group if you are not comfortable with that.

Seamless collaboration with the provider

The second reason why you may find a family daycare much more appealing than its regular counterpart is due to the easy collaboration that you and the provider can have. In a regular daycare facility, it can be challenging to forge real relationships with the providers for a few reasons. For starters, they are numerous, and different people will be watching your child on any given day. Secondly, if the daycare facility experiences high turnover, then you will probably be unfamiliar with who is providing care to your child.

On the other hand, a singular person usually provides family daycare. Therefore, you have the opportunity to develop a real relationship with the provider and this ensures that your parenting choices are being adhered to when your child is in their care. This seamless collaboration will also prove invaluable for matters such as potty training, dietary choices and more! Contact a family daycare service near you today in order to learn more.
